I've always wondered if stuff like that works - and recently, a long lost friend of mine got in contact with his ex-girlfriend that way. She didn't see the posting, but a friend of hers did. Not quite as romantic as some of those postings though...
MI -I still think that's kind of neat. Some of them are admittedly a little silly, ie, 'yo man, like I saw you hitting the gym, and like, you were like, wicked.' But others, as in the case with your friend, are kind of heart-warming!
